How Nurturing Others Helps You Become More Fertile

building fertile confidence change your thinking! mindbodyspirit path to baby the seed program + ivf

Whether you believe it was true for your mother or not, the role of “mother” reveals our innate ability to nurture others, and therefore holds the key to healing certain fertility blocks.

Inside The Seed Program, we teach women a concept called “The Spirit of a Mother” and help students become more aware of how they already embody important characteristics of a mother.

Understanding that you’re performing the role of mother before baby helps restore “fertile confidence”, while pointing out areas that may need some improvement in the emotional outlook along the path to baby.

Realizing that you’re already mothering plays a positive role in folliculogenesis and improves your fertility!

Use this writing exercise to get a better idea of your thoughts on mothering and how that information can make you more fertile.

Read the questions below and decide which you are most drawn to, or which you feel the most willing to explore. Then give yourself 15 minutes to write freely with a pen and paper, without worry of doing it “right”. Write down whatever comes to mind, in an effort to capture your unedited stream of consciousness. Give yourself permission to shred the paper if necessary when you’re finished.

There are no right or wrong answers, only honest ones!

  • What does the word “nurturing” mean to you? Does that word trigger something inside you? In a good way? Or does it bring up a memory of lack, or a sense that you will fail somehow?
  • In what ways do you nurture yourself and those around you?
  • Do you find it easy or challenging to accept help from friends, loved ones, your partner, or other people in your life? Why do you think this is?
  • Write about a time when you consciously nurtured someone in your life, and how that experience made you feel. Did it evoke positive feelings of gratitude, appreciation, love, happiness?

Writing free-hand will help you gain perspective and clarity. Reflect on where you are now, and commit to working through the emotional challenges that infertility is bringing up for you.

It’s not always a matter of thinking how to get pregnant easily; sometimes it’s about making peace with the aspects of fertility that push you to be your best self.

The more you write, the more you release old patterns that no longer serve you, and increase the thoughts that help you become more confident in your ability to mother a child. This exercise works and is totally worth your time and effort!
